Earth Day Presentation
The start of the Environmental & Energy Awareness Week celebration April 22 will begin with an Opening/Awards Ceremony in the Training Auditorium at 10 a.m., featuring a presentation by David B. Struhs, Secretary of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. April 22 is also Earth Day. Struhs will discuss the Governor's Energy Budget Priorities. Appointed Secretary by Governor Jeb Bush, Struhs oversees Florida's environmental regulatory and law enforcement programs, the acquisitions and management of public lands, including an extensive system of state parks, and the development and regulation of Florida's water resources through the state's water management districts. Upon his arrival in Florida, Secretary Struhs became chief strategist and advocate for the passage of Governor Jeb Bush's "Florida Forever" Plan, the largest conservation land program in the world. Florida's State Parks currently hold the National Park and Recreation Association's Gold Medal, having been voted the best state parks system in America. Please join us in welcoming Secretary David B. Struhs to the Kennedy Space Center.
