KSC Fitness Centers Offer Tip
on Stress and Nutrition

It's a common myth that our bodies use more nutrients when we're under mental stress. Although pressures at home or work sometimes cause us to neglect eating well, we don't use any more or less essential nutrients while under this type of stress. If you are mentally or emotionally stressed out, a few eating tips may help:

§ Don't binge or just grab whatever is in sight - take time for eating well.
§ If time is an issue, try quick-to-prepare foods and recipes, such as canned foods or frozen veggies and fruits. Order in if you have to, but don't skip meals.
§ Take time out for a healthful breakfast before your day starts.

Still Time to Help Back To School
The "Back-packs & Books" program, spearheaded by Boeing, collects school supplies such as backpacks, rulers, folders, pens, highlighters etc., in an effort to help underprivileged students. New & "gently loved" books (for ages 1-6) are also being collected for local pre-K and Headstart programs. The collection period ends Friday, Aug. 2. Collection locations: Jody Miravete/7-5021/SSPF, Karen Sacik/7-2820/O&C, Cheryl Carter/1-4060/OSB, Vicki Schnider/1-7024/OPF, Linda Mattias/476-3442/CCAFS, Victoria Sandz/7-3192/EML, Anna Grillo/868-7455/ SpaceHab. If you do not work in any of these buildings, please contact Liz Casper, 867-6980, or Mike Wall, 867-3610.

Did You Know. . .
KSC'S Online Multimedia Gallery Now Includes Video -- Thanks to a recent upgrade, visitors to KSC's online Multimedia Gallery (http://mediaarchive.ksc.nasa.gov/index.cfm) are no longer limited to searching only for photos. The Gallery has been expanded to include video clips of significant Center events in addition to the still photography archive. The majority of the videos comprise Space Shuttle pre-launch preparations, launches and landings, although expendable vehicle launches, weekly KSC Direct! news briefs and other happenings are frequently showcased. The videos are provided in a downloadable RealMedia format in two different sizes for visitors using 56K modems or Cable/Broadband connections.
