Keep
Informed In Hurricane Emergencies
In a storm
situation, KSC could lose all power and computer services. For
this reason the KSC Emergency Preparedness Office has established
a virtual Web site at Marshall Space Flight Center where individuals
who have evacuated the local area in a storm situation can find
out the latest duty status and updated information about KSC.
Please bookmark or write down the Web site on home PCs and laptops
that you might carry with you: http://ksc-eoc.ksc.nasa.gov
. Call Wayne M. Kee, CEM KSC Emergency
Preparedness Officer, Spaceport Services Directorate, 321-867-3795,
if you have any questions.
Nutrition
Tip From KSC Fitness Center -- How to Dine Out Healthfully
Dining in a restaurant is not an invitation to eat more, or eat
differently, than you would at home. Focus on the conversation
you are having with your friends or family and then:
§ Remove the bread basket from the table as this only
fills you up on low-fiber, low-nutrient food.
§ Drink only one alcoholic beverage, and try non-alcoholic
drinks instead.
§ Ask for sauces and dressings on the side so you
will have more control over what your food is laden with.
§ Ask how the food is prepared so you can avoid fried
foods and sauces/soups made with cream sauces.
§ Choose two appetizers rather than a large entrée,
such as shrimp cocktail and a salad.
§ If your entrée is large, share it with a
friend or take home half for lunch the next day.
§ If you have dessert, share one with everyone at
the table, so you can still enjoy yourself without overeating.
