KSC Bi-Annual Environmental & Energy Awards Call
Employees are invited to participate in the 2002 KSC Bi-Annual Awards Call. In October 2001, the Environmental Program Office had the honor of awarding their newly established award, called the "Environmental & Energy Awards Program," to one individual and three teams recognizing their contributions and/or successful operations in preserving the environment, conserving energy, and reserving natural resources while reaching for the stars. The Center Director presented the awards to contractor and civil service employees, including a certificate with a newly designed environmental logo patch. The patches have been flown on one of the Shuttle flights with a certificate of authenticity attached.

The award is given in honor of exceptional performance in making a unique contribution to the Environmental & Energy Awareness Program, hazardous waste reduction, energy use reduction, pollution prevention, affirmative procurement, chemical substitution, water conservation and enhancing substantial savings. Nominations to the Environmental & Energy Awards Program are due by close of business Feb. 8 to /Barbara Naylor/TA-C3. For nomination forms, contact Barbara Naylor at 867-8452 or e-mail to Barbara.Naylor-1@ksc.nasa.gov. The Bi-Annual Awards Ceremony will take place on March 14.
