Update
Columbia Following inspections of Main Propulsion
System (MPS) flow liners that identified three cracks on engine
No. 2 liquid hydrogen flow liner, mission managers delayed Columbias
launch date until a full engineering analysis is complete.
Endeavour Eddy current testing of liquid oxygen and
hydrogen flow liners are complete. Technicians identified two
cracks, the first on engine one and the second on engine two liquid
hydrogen flow liners. The cracks are similar to the ones discovered
on the other three orbiters. In parallel to the flow liner inspections,
Shuttle Endeavour processing continues for its next mission to
the International Space Station. Removal of the Multi-Purpose
Logistics Module from the payload bay was completed last week.
Atlantis Processing continues for launch to the International
Space Station. Controller tests are complete on Auxiliary Power
Units No. 2 and 3. Left-hand Orbital Maneuvering System (OMS)
engine heat shield installation is complete. Inspections of Atlantis
identified three cracks on engine No. 1 liquid hydrogen flow liner.
All launch dates are under review.
FWPWG
Seminar on the Brevard County School System
The Federal Womens Program Working Group (FWPWG) has invited
personnel from Brevard County School System to present information
on July 19 to Kennedy Space Center personnel on the Brevard County
School System. The seminar will begin promptly at 11 a.m. and
will continue to noon, allowing time for questions between each
presentation, shown below:
§ Sarah Stern, Director, District Communications/Public Information,
will present district statistics, including FCAT scores for Brevard
County.
§ Al Narvez, director, Office of Choice Schooling, will discuss
choice, charter and millennium schools.
§ Margaret Lewis, director, Office of Applied Technology,
will present information about applied technology for high schools.

The seminar will be held in the O&C Mission Briefing Room,
with seating for about 75 - 100 attendees, on a first-come basis.
Reminder
The SGS Energy Management Office is sponsoring a course on Energy
Management. Instructor Kevin Riley will answer questions such
as What are some tips to applying and saving energy at work
and at home? The course will be held on July 18, from 10-10:45
a.m., in the O&C Building/Room 2138. If you have any questions,
please call the SGS Energy Management Office, 867-8193.
