Update
Columbia
- Processing continues for the July 19 STS-107 mission. The crew
was on Center last weekend for CEIT, looking over equipment and
payload in the orbiter. Atlantis has had its left-hand
Orbital Maneuvering System (OMS) thruster replaced. Preparations
were made this week for ammonia servicing. Discovery is
still waiting the start of its Orbiter Major Modification (OMM)
period that is scheduled to begin at KSC late this summer.
Bond
Drive
The Kennedy Space Center Savings Bonds Drive for
2002 is entering its final days. Friday, June 14, is the last
opportunity to participate in this year's annual drive. In addition
to the Series EE Savings Bonds available, you can choose the inflation-protected
I-bonds. EE-bonds and I-bonds have an additional tax advantage
when used as a college savings program. For Savings Bonds information
and enrollment forms, contact your bonds canvasser. Need to know
who your canvasser is? Contact Christina Brown at 867-8463.

Ribbon
Cutting For New Hypergol Facility
The Hypergol Support Building #2 is ready to replace temporary
trailers at the Hypergol Maintenance Facility and being officially
opened in a ribbon-cutting ceremony June 18. Center Director Roy
Bridges Jr. will welcome guests and speaker William Pickavance
Jr., vice president, deputy program manager, Florida Operations,
United Space Alliance.
Free ID
Tags
Please
remember that all hand-carried packages such as briefcases, backpacks,
lunch boxes, tool bags, etc., should have an ID tag or label.
Unattended packages found without identification arouse concerns
for explosive devices and may be confiscated or destroyed. Free
ID tags are available to all personnel at the following locations:
* KSC Headquarters Bldg., VRC Badging Office/1470
* VAB F Gate Badging Station
* PIDS 1, Phillips Pkwy. near the CCAFS South Gate
* PIDS 3, NASA Causeway near Gate 3
* SSPF main elevator lobbies
