Mission Update
Shuttle Mission Managers at the Flight Readiness Review on Tuesday confirmed the April 4 launch date for Space Shuttle Atlantis on mission STS-110 to the International Space Station. Mission Specialist Jerry Ross, one of the spacewalkers to assemble the S0 truss onto the U.S. Lab, will be making a record seventh shuttle flight, becoming the most-launched U.S. astronaut in history. Ross will be teaming with Mission Specialist Lee Morin; MS Steven Smith and MS Rex Walheim are the other spacewalking team. STS-110 marks the 25th flight for Atlantis and the 109th flight in Shuttle history. The launch time will be announced 24 hours prior to liftoff.

ELV Update
The April 18 launch of the Aqua-EOS spacecraft from Vandenberg AFB is under review. The Aqua project is evaluating a battery cell concern that has postponed planned fueling of the spacecraft. The decision whether to proceed with the fueling will be made on Monday, April 1, following a meeting to evaluate test results.


Scrub Jay Tour Scheduled during EEAW 2002 for April 23
The KSC/Refuge area supports one of the largest populations of scrub jays in Florida. During the 45-minute tour you will visit a thriving scrub jay colony, which co-exist in the shadow of the Shuttle. The first 34 employees to sign up at the Welcome Area during the Environmental & Energy Awareness Week will be set to take off at Noon sharp! You must receive your supervisor's approval before taking this tour. If you have any questions regarding the tour, please contact Shannah Trout, Dynamac, at 867-8443. Come out and show your support during Environmental & Energy Awareness Week!
