 Space
Shuttle program managers have rescheduled the launch of Endeavour
on the STS-113 mission to no earlier than Nov. 22. The new launch
date avoids conflict with other launches planned from CCAFS, and
allows shuttle engineers additional time to complete an ongoing
evaluation of two open technical issues: replacement of another
flexible hose and further analysis of the robotic arm's condition
after ultrasound inspections last week revealed some delamination
of its carbon composite structure.

Picnic
The
annual secretary and supervisor picnic is being held Tuesday,
Nov. 19, at KARS Park II beginning at 11:30 a.m. All secretaries
and supervisors, contractor and civil servants, are invited. Tickets
are $3 for secretaries/administrative support and $5 for supervisors

The
Great American Smokeout is Nov. 21
The Great American Smokeout is a nationwide initiative that asks
smokers to quit smoking for 24 hours. There are many programs
and aids to help you quit. Information about the effects of smoking
and smoking cessation will be available at all Occupational Medicine
Clinics (OHF, LAC, SAC) on Nov. 21. Smoking Cessation groups are
available every Tuesday, 11 a.m. to Noon at the OHF. For more

Salvation Army Xmas stockings
Federally Employed Women (FEW) will be filling stockings
for the Salvation Army Christmas Children. Without our
help, many of these children would not receive any Christmas
gifts. If you would like to participate in this project,
the following items are needed (by age): 0-1 year --
teething ring, baby rattle, socks, stuffed toys, baby
shampoo, baby lotion, baby powder, baby wipes, cup, small
ball; 2-3 years -- tooth brush, tooth paste, socks,
underwear, bows (girls), cap (boys), crayons, coloring
book, small toys; 4-6 years -- tooth brush, tooth
paste, socks, underwear, bows/barrettes (girls), cap (boys),
crayons, coloring book, action fig-ures, small toys.;
7-9 years -- tooth brush, tooth paste, socks, underwear,
pencils, fun pads, rulers, markers, notebook paper, Kleenex,
wallets, combs/brushes; 10-12 years -- tooth brush,
tooth paste, socks, underwear, circle/cross word puzzles,
ball cards, markers, note-book paper, nail polish, chap
stick/lip gloss, Kleenex, wallets, combs/brushes. Items
