Kennedy Space Center
entrance gate changes

Newly relocated perimeter gates and a new roadway will allow 24-hour access to the public through Kennedy Space Center property from S.R. 3 to S.R. 405, bypassing the KSC restricted areas. The new gates are east of the KSC Visitor Center on S.R. 405 and approximately 1.5 miles north of the present Gate 2 on S.R. 3, which currently prohibits traffic on the KSC portion of S.R. 3 during the hours of darkness. The new road, named Space Commerce Way, will have entrances and exits onto S.R. 3 and S.R. 405 just before the new KSC gates. Both entrances to Space Commerce Way are marked with signs and traffic signals.

New gates on S.R. 3 and 405 will be open at 4 a.m., Friday, Aug. 1, and the new roadway, Space Commerce Way, will open to traffic at 6 a.m. Other gates will be open for entry but not controlled. Hands- on badge checks and vehicle inspections will be conducted at the new gates. Your cooperation and patience is requested during the transition period. Be mindful of the following:
• Please approach with lights off as appropriate.
• Have badges ready for hands-on badge check.
• Be aware of the new traffic flow pattern.
• Be courteous, attentive, and SAFE.
