EEAW
plans Amnesty Days,
April 22- 23
During
EEAW 2003, Amnesty Days will be held at the O&C Parking Area
April 22 and at the VAB Parking Lot E April 23. This is an excellent
opportunity for KSC workers to dispose of unwanted Government
chemicals. All types of chemicals will be accepted except for
biohazardous materials, radioactive materials and explosives.

Alliance
to Save Energy nominations extended to March 10
The nomination deadline for the Alliance to Save Energy's 2003
"Star of Energy Efficiency" awards has been extended
to March 10. These prestigious awards are given annually to individuals,
organizations, government agencies, or companies that have significantly
furthered the cause of en-ergy efficiency in the previous year.
To submit a nominee, please complete a nomination form (go to
the Web site http://www.ase.org/profess/associates/nomination.htm)
with your pertinent contact information, as well as that of your
nominee, and a short paragraph on why you feel this person or
group should be recognized for exemplary energy efficiency achievements
in the past year. A panel of distin-guished energy professionals
will choose up to four "Stars" among those nominations
received by March 10. Awardees will be honored at the Alliance's
annual Evening with the Stars of Energy Efficiency black-tie dinner
and awards gala on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Science
Fair Judges Needed
One more school has contacted KSC hoping to find some judges for
their science fair. Mims Elementary's Science Fair is on March
25, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering,
please check with your supervisor, then contact Patricia Gillis
(patricia.j.gillis@nasa.gov).
Reminder
Seventeen vendors with contracts under the NASA Scientific &
Engineering Workstation Procurement III (SEWP) will be available
to discuss and demonstrate the latest in Information Technology
products and services, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Tuesday, March
4, in the Mission Briefing Room of the O&C Building. Representatives
from CEWINC, ECS, COMPAQ, DLT, FCN, GMR, GTSI, Hewlett Packard,
IBM, ID, IGOV, NGIT, SGI, Sword & Shield, T3, TECHNICA, and
UNISYS, will introduce the latest in a wide range of advanced
technology UNIX, Linus and Windows based workstations and servers
along with peripherals, network equipment, storage devices and
other IT products. Complimentary refreshments.
WHO
SHOULD ATTEND: All technical POC, contracting officers,
and contract specialists are encouraged to attend, but the demonstrations
are open to all KSC employees. For additional information contact

Mammograms
Available at KSC -- The Women's Center for Radiology
(WCR) will have their Mobile Mammography Unit at KSC (southwest
corner of the parking lot behind HQ), on Tuesday, March
18. WCR is accredited in mammography by the American College
of Radiology and all mammograms are interpreted by radiologists.
Insurance can be filed. Call 1-800-367-1870 for an appointment
or more information. If you have any questions, please
