Update
The
GALEX launch has been postponed. The GALEX test team needs
additional time to resolve an issue with a demated connector found
during recent testing. SIRTF is still on track for an April
18 launch. A leak check of the first stage that includes loading
liquid oxygen aboard is scheduled for March 22. A flight simulation
to test the vehicle's systems that will operate during power flight
is scheduled for March 26. All components of the Mars Exploration
Rovers have been delivered to KSC and are undergoing prelaunch
testing. The initial functional test and mission simulation for
MER-1 is planned for the last week of March. Both rovers are seen
in the photo above.

RehabWorks hosts National Athletic Training Month activities
To support National Athletic Training Month, this week RehabWorks
is hosting its third event! A Prevention and Care of Musculoskeletal
Injuries Clinic will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the O&C
Mission Briefing Room today. Employees will have the opportunity
for a hands-on approach to learning basic athletic training skills.
Six stations manned by local athletic trainers will instruct employees
on the following: 1) Immediate care of injuries; 2) Basic wound
care; 3) Wrapping and taping techniques; 4) Heat illness and fluid
replacement tips; 5) Basic back and neck care; 6) Workstation
design/microbreaks. All instructional materials will be provided
along with handouts for the employee to take for their personal
use. Door prizes will be given away -- join the fun!

Opportunity -- UCF GRE Review Course
UCF will offer
a GRE review course at the BCC Cocoa Campus starting Tuesday,
March 25. The review course meets once a week for eight weeks
from 6 to 9 p.m. Cost is $350. Information and registration are

Hazardous Waste and Electronic Collection Event -
FREE to residents - sponsored by the Brevard County Board
of County Commissioners at Lowe's Home Improvement Center.
The first event will take place Saturday, March 29, at
the Melbourne Store, 2150 Minton Road. The second event
will be April 5, at the Rockledge site, 3790 S. Fiske
Boulevard. Times of events are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ONLY.
Household hazardous waste includes brake fluid, car batteries,
gasoline, law and garden chemicals, paint, paint thinners,
pool chemicals, rechargeable batteries, solvents, used
motor oil and used oil filters. Residents also can drop
off five household electronic items. What is E-scrap?
Items such as computers, laptops, monitors, printers,
scanners and televisions. For more information on the
