Update
Mars Exploration Rover 2 (MER-2, left) underwent spin and balance
testing yesterday. It is scheduled to be moved to the launch pad
May 27. Full integration of the MER-1 entry vehicle (back shell,
heat shield, lander and rover) is to be completed by May 21 and
followed by mating the entry vehicle to the cruise stage.
Astronaut
Hall of Fame Induction
Space fans are invited to witness the 2003 Astronaut Hall of Fame
Induction at the KSC Visitor Complex June 20 and 21. Astronauts
Sally Ride, Daniel Brandenstein and Robert "Hoot" Gibson
will be inducted in a ceremony, joining other inductees from the
Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab and Space Shuttle programs. Tickets
include reserved seating at the induction ceremony; a ribbon-cutting
ceremony at the Astronaut Hall of Fame; the choice of an "Apollo
Brunch" or "Right Stuff Lunch" with some of America's
most notable astronauts; a commemorative poster; and three-day
Maximum Access admission to the Visitor Complex and the Astronaut
Hall of Fame. In addition to the three inductees, astronauts currently
scheduled to attend the induction festivities are Buzz Aldrin,
Scott Carpenter, Gene Cernan, Gordon Cooper, Bob Crippen, Walter
Cunningham, Fred Haise, Ed-ward Gibson, Owen Garriott, John Glenn,
Dick Gordon, Rick Hauck, James Lovell, James McDivitt, Ed Mitchell,
Richard Truly, Al Worden and John Young.
Road
Repaving
On Thursday, May 22, the eastbound lanes of NASA Parkway from
the Titusville City Limit (West of Guard Gate 3) to B Avenue in
the Industrial Area (East of Guard Gate 2B) will be reduced to
one lane due to repaving. The contractor's daily work period will
be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. To ensure the workers' safety, and your
safety, please observe and abide by the posted speed limits and
construction directional signs. Security is being requested to
support the work site as much as possible, and speeding fines
will be doubled if workers are present. Depending on weather con-ditions,
the work will take approximately two weeks. If you have any questions

Cardiovascular
Disease Screening
Screening will include blood pressure measurement and blood drawn
for analysis of total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and glucose.
Fast for 12 hours (no food, water only). Health professionals
will be available for counseling and consultation. No appointment
is necessary. Drop by between 7 and 8 a.m. at one of these sites:
* Wednesday, May 21 - Occupational Health Facility
* Thursday, May 22 - O&C Fitness Center.

Did
You Know?
CHS/SGS
offers an obesity and weight loss surgery support group
for KSC/CCAFS personnel. The group will convene on Wednesday,
May 28, at
11 a.m. for about 45 minutes in the Occupational Health
Facility, Building M6-495 (Training Room). Gastric bypass
may be a surgical option for people who are more than
100 pounds overweight or have obesity-related health problems.
