Next
Wednesday is being devoted to the well-being of the KSC work force
in an annual event emphasizing the importance of safety and health
in the workplace and in everyday life. The theme of “Safety
& Health – Lifeline To Your Future” will permeate
the day starting with the keynote address by Charlie Plumb, former
Navy fighter pilot and POW; and follow in exhibits and organizational
safety and health activities. Plumb’s address will be on
the KSC internal NASA TV. For more information, go to the Web

“Mission: SPACE” takes flight
Orlando’s Walt Disney World touts the ride, which “sends”
civilians to Mars, as their most technologically advanced attraction
ever. To develop the realistic simulation, NASA provided Disney
with Agency tours and details on current missions and challenges.
The attraction also includes a post-ride game loosely based on
Mission Control activities.
Annual Business Opportunities Expo
The annual Business Opportunities Expo 2003 is Tuesday, Oct. 21,
from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cruise Terminal No. 4, Port Canaveral.
All employees are urged to attend this event sponsored by the
45th Space Wing, the Canaveral Port Authority, and the Small and
Small Disadvantaged Busi-ness Council. Bus service will be available
hourly from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. One bus will stop at the HQ
Bldg., then the SSPF and the CCAFS E&L Bldg. A second bus
will proceed directly from the OSB’s east side to the Port.

& Energy Awareness
Planning Meeting Nov. 14
The Environmental & Energy Awareness Team is ready to plan
the 2004 activities for next year's EEAW in celebration of Earth
Day. If you would like to participate in the planning activities,
join the team Nov. 14, at 1 p.m., in the O&C Building/Room
1055. Your help and new ideas will make next year another success!

Florida
Space Institute Spring 2004
courses available
The Florida
Space Institute, a consortium of Florida universities and colleges,
located at KSC, is offering both undergraduate and graduate level
courses in space- and management-related topics. In January 2004
the Institute is offering courses in Mechatronics, Advanced Propulsion,
Space Environment Technology (as part of a new B.S.E.T degree
program), and Space Science & Technology (a survey of space
history and space technology de-velopment). The Institute is also
hosting the University of Central Florida’s M.S. in Systems
Engineering Manage-ment degree program. For additional information
