Reminder
Center Director Jim Kennedy will hold his first All Hands Meeting
Sept. 17, at 9:30 a.m. in the Training Auditorium. Representatives
from our Shuttle program and contractor team will be on hand to
discuss the Columbia Accident Investigation Board report and where
KSC stands in our progress toward return to flight. A question-and-answer
session will follow. For those who won’t have a seat in
the auditorium, please submit your questions prior to the meeting
by e-mailing them to KSC Internal Comm. If you would like your
questions to be addressed anonymously at the meeting, please so
indicate in your e-mail. The presentation will be broadcast
live on NASA Television, Channel 7.

Hispanic Heritage Month
KSC will observe Hispanic Heritage Month Sept. 15 through Oct.
15, reflecting on the extensive contributions that diversity has
contributed to KSC, NASA and the nation. The theme is “One
Culture, Many Races.” The Hispanic Employment Program Working
Group will host its 18th annual Hispanic luncheon at the Debus
Conference Center, KSC Visitor Complex, on Friday, Oct. 3, from
11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.. The guest speaker is Ramon [Ray] Lugo, deputy
director, Launch Services Program. Last year’s event was
a sellout, so purchase your ticket early. Bus transportation will
be available to and from the event. Luncheon tickets can be purchased

Sept.
15 – 21 is the 2003 Pollution Prevention Aware-ness Week
Michael Hazlett of American Recycled Plastics will be guest speaker
on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 2 – 3 p.m. in the O&C Mission
Briefing Room. The topic is “What happens to your empty
milk jugs?” The first 100 participants at the presentation
will get a door prize.
Reminder
The KSC Fitness Center-sponsored Intercenter Walk/Run on Tuesday,
Sept. 16, at the Shuttle Landing Facility, is free for
all Spaceport employees. If you have not registered, late registration
takes place at the race, so please arrive by 4:15 p.m. The race
starts at 5 p.m. Registered employees should be there by 4:30
to pick up registration materials. Remember, if it rains the race
is still on. If there is lightning, the race will be postponed
until Wednesday at 5 p.m. If you have any questions, please call

You Know?
The
influenza season in Florida will be here in the next few
months. You can be protected from the most likely causes
of epidemic flu by being vaccinated. Immunization is especially
important to people with known heart, lung, or kidney
problems, diabetes, anemia or a reduced body resistance
to infection. The schedule at the KSC clinics, Monday
through Friday, as follows: Occupational Health Facility
(Industrial Area) 7 a.m. -
5 p.m., and Launch Area Clinic (LC-39 Area, MFF Facility),
7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
