KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -– From his seat in the cockpit of Shuttle Endeavour, STS-108 Commander Dom Gorie speaks to the team in the Launch Control Center. "Right here, right now, it's time to let freedom roar. Let's light 'em up," Gorie said before the countdown resumed at
T-9 minutes. Liftoff occurred at 5:19:28 p.m. EST (10:19:28 GMT) on this second launch attempt in two days. STS-108 is the final Shuttle mission of 2001 and the 107th Shuttle flight overall. It is the 12th flight to the Space Station.
