Postponement Briefing

| KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -– Following
this morning's launch postponement, a briefing was held at Johnson
Space Center in Houston, TX to review the issues which led to the
postponement and possible solutions. Mission managers opted not
to launch today due to problems with a Russian supply ship that
was intended to dock with the International Space Station prior
to the launch of Endeavour. (Includes original audio) |

Van Laak, Manager of Space Station Operations and Integration
at Johnson Space Center, detailed the issues with the Russian
Progress supply ship. Russian video indicates that a piece of
debris is preventing a proper docking. He discussed some of the
options that managers in the U.S. and Russia are considering as
well as possible dates for further STS-108 launch attempts.
