KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -– Image of Shuttle with American flag and launch complex in the background.Members of the STS-109 crew participate in a pre-pack and fit check. During the pre-pack and fit check, astronauts each don their flight suits, helmets, and gloves as they would on launch day to ensure a proper fit. The goal of the mission is to replace Solar Array 2 with Solar Array 3, replace the Power Control Unit, remove the Faint Object Camera and install the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS), install the Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS) Cooling System, and install New Outer Blanket Layer insulation.
