At launch pad 17-B, launch preparations for MAP aboard a Boeing Delta II launch vehicle continue to proceed on schedule. Today, the composite payload fairing, 10 feet in diameter, is being installed around the spacecraft. The Delta II second stage will be loaded with storable hypergolic propellants on Thursday, June 28. A countdown dress rehearsal is also scheduled for Thursday for the launch team.
On Saturday, June 30, the mobile service tower will be rolled back from around the vehicle at approximately 9:30 a.m. and followed by the loading of the RP-1 fuel aboard the first stage. Loading of the first stage liquid oxygen will begin at approximately 2:00 p.m. The launch window opens at 3:46:46 p.m. and closes at 3:58 p.m. Should it be necessary, the launch window on Sunday, July 1, is 3:40 p.m. - 3:55 p.m. EDT

At the Astrotech commercial payload processing facility in Titusville, GOES-M has completed processing and been fueled with hypergolic propellant. The Atlas payload fairing as been delivered by Lockheed Martin to Astrotech in preparation for the encapsulation activities scheduled to occur on July 2. GOES-M will then be moved to Pad A at Launch Complex 36 on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on July 6.
A Simulated Flight (SimFlight) test of the Atlas II, an electrical test of the in-flight events for the vehicle, was conducted on Monday, June 25.
The RP-1 fuel will be loaded aboard the Atlas first stage on Thursday in preparation for launch.
The launch countdown wet dress rehearsal for the Atlas II vehicle will be conducted this week on Friday morning, June 29, from 7 - 11 a.m. The gantry at Pad 36-A will be retracted from around the Atlas. The Centaur stage will then be fully fueled with liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen.

| In the Payload Hazardous Servicing Facility, the loading of hypergolic fuel aboard the spacecraft was performed on Friday, June 22. This Friday, June 29, the spacecraft will be hoisted for weighing, then transferred to a spin table for the spin balance test.

At the Kodiak Launch Complex, prelaunch preparations are on schedule. The vehicle arrived at Kodiak Island by barge on May 30. The Athena first stage was erected on the pad June 1. The interstage was mated atop the first stage on June 5 followed by second stage erection on June 12. The Orbit Adjust Module, the stage that trims the orbit after the burn of the second stage, was fueled on June 15. On June 19, together with the avionics module, it was erected atop the booster.
The Starshine spacecraft is currently scheduled to arrive in Kodiak on July 25. The three Department of Defense payloads are expected to arrive in late July and early August.
Launch remains targeted for August 31 at 5 p.m. Alaska time.

| NASA's HESSI spacecraft aboard an Orbital Sciences air-launched Pegasus XL vehicle left Cape Canaveral Air Force Station for a return to Vandenberg Air Force Base on Thursday, June 21. Arrival of the L-1011 aircraft in California occurred at 1:48 p.m. PDT. The Pegasus was demated from the L-1011 on Friday and transported to the Orbital Sciences processing hangar in Building 1555. The HESSI spacecraft remains mated to the Pegasus at this time while an interim plan for the spacecraft is developed.
