Winds on Sunday increased up to 50 knots and hampered recovery and tow operations. Due to the severe conditions, some damage occurred to both boosters’ forward skirts. Also, the left hand frustum and parts of the left hand forward skirt were lost during recovery operations. The recovery ships with the boosters in tow are scheduled to arrive at Port Canaveral early this afternoon. Marshall engineers will assess damages when the boosters are on dock at hangar AF.
