MISSION: STS-67 -- ASTRO-2

NOTE: The countdown for mission STS-67 began today at 2 a.m. at the T-43
hour mark for a planned launch of Space Shuttle Endeavour at 1:37 a.m.
Thursday, March 2. The seven-member STS-67 crew arrived at Kennedy Space
Center’s Shuttle Landing Facility yesterday at 10:45 p.m. Weather
forecasters are currently listing an 80 percent chance of launch criteria
violation on Thursday due to clouds and winds associated with a cold front
expected to move through KSC Thursday morning.

LAUNCH DATE and TIME: March 2 at 1:37 a.m.
LAUNCH WINDOW: 2 hours, 30 minutes
KSC LANDING DATE and TIME: March 17 at 3:09 p.m.

  Check-out back-up flight systems
  Review and load flight software into orbiter’s general purpose computers
  Begin stowage of flight crew equipment
  Perform test of the vehicle’s pyrotechnic initiator controllers

  Close-outs of aft engine compartment and payload bay
  Launch countdown preparations
  Close payload bay doors for flight
  Crew arrival at KSC (10:45 p.m. Sunday)
  Begin countdown at T-43 hour mark (2 a.m. Monday)

  Begin 12 hour operation to load cryogenic reactants into Endeavour’s fuel
    cell storage tanks and the extended duration orbiter pallet (10 p.m.
