NOTE: Following the Flight Readiness Review last Friday, mission
managers decided not to select an official launch date due to ongoing
work aboard the Mir space station that needs to be completed prior to
Atlantis' arrival. The launch team at the Kennedy Space Center will
continue vehicle processing work so that Atlantis will be ready for
launch anytime on or after June 22. An official launch date is
expected to be announced in about one week.

NOTE: Workers at Launch Pad 39-B will begin today to prepare the
Shuttle Discovery for rollback to the Vehicle Assembly Building
following Friday’s decision by mission managers to repair in the VAB
damage done by woodpeckers in the foam insulation of the external
tank. Mission managers concluded that repairs on the external tank
should be done in the VAB due to difficulties in accessing the
damaged areas with the vehicle at the pad.

	This week, rollback preparations will include: disconnect the
TDRS payload from the orbiter’s payload bay today, remove the payload
and place it in the pad’s payload change-out room on Wednesday,
depressurize the hypergolic system on Wednesday, disconnect ordnance
on Thursday, retract the rotating service structure on Thursday, and
begin rollback at about 4 a.m. on Friday. It is estimated that about
a week will be needed to repair the remaining 80 woodpeckers holes
once access is gained to the external tank in the VAB.

	This week, managers will be discussing possible dates to
reschedule mission STS-70, which will follow mission STS-71.

NOTE: Preparations are in work to install the space shuttle main
engines beginning Wednesday. Also, the crew equipment interface test
was finished Friday with no serious concerns brought forth. Due to
previous delays associated with removing and replacing the orbital
maneuvering system pod, it is believed that roll to the Vehicle
Assembly Building will be delayed 3 to 6 days.
