ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 196-245 statute miles/51.6 degrees

NOTE: Engineers have determined no additional work is required to
verify the readiness for flight of the STS-74 solid rocket boosters
in light of extremely small cracks found on hold-down posts attached
to other boosters that flew earlier this year. Previous inspections
on the boosters at the pad indicate no cracking is present. Mission
managers will be fully briefed on the matter at the scheduled
management team meeting to be held at KSC on Thursday.

NOTE: The OAST-Flyer and Get Away Special canisters have been
successfully installed in the orbiter’s payload bay. The payload
interface verification test will begin today and continue through
tomorrow.

NOTE:  The orbiter Columbia is in Orbiter Processing Facility bay 2
and post-mission assessments will continue today. A final assessment
of tile damage resulting from the flight shows about 147 total hits,
of which 26 had a major dimension of 1-inch or larger.
