MISSION: STS-69 -- WSF-2 & SPARTAN 201-03
Flight Day 2

LAUNCH DATE/TIME: Sept. 7 at 11:09 a.m. EDT
KSC LANDING DATE/TIME: Sept. 18 at 7:38 a.m.
MISSION DURATION: 10 days, 20 hours, 29 minutes
ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 230 statute miles/28.45 degrees

	The Spartan-201 payload was deployed from Endeavour today at
about 11:41 a.m. EDT. It will be retrieved on Sunday. Wake Shield
Facility will be deployed on Monday and retrieved on Wednesday. The
scheduled spacewalk remains set for early next Saturday, Sept. 16.
Endeavour is scheduled to land at 7:38 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 18 at
KSC’s Shuttle Landing Facility.

	Both boosters will be returned to Hangar AF today. This
weekend the nozzles will be removed and readied for shipping to Utah
on Tuesday for post-flight inspections.

	The crew for mission STS-69 are: Commander David Walker,
Pilot Ken Cockrell, and Mission Specialists James Voss, James Newman
and Michael Gernhardt.

DISCOVERY/OV-103 -- Pre-Orbiter Maintenance Down Period

VEHICLE: Discovery/OV-103
LOCATION: Orbiter Processing Facility bay 1
TARGET DATE OF DEPARTURE FOR PALMDALE FOR OMDP: Sept. 26

NOTE: Discovery is scheduled to be delivered to Palmdale, Calif., for
a nine-month Orbiter Maintenance Down Period (OMDP). During this
time, the vehicle will be outfitted with a 5th set of cryogenic tanks
and an external airlock to support missions to the international
Space Station. Discovery is scheduled to depart Kennedy Space Center
via the 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft on Sept. 26. Discovery’s next
flight, the second mission to service the Hubble Space Telescope, is
targeted for launch in early 1997.
