STS-73 IN WORK TODAY:

STS-73 WORK SCHEDULED:

· Retract rotating service structure for auxiliary power unit hot fire
  (Friday, 9:30 a.m.)
· Auxiliary power unit hot fire
  (Friday, 12 Noon)
· USML battery charging and experiment fit checks (next week)

STS-73 WORK COMPLETED:

· Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT) at 11 a.m. Tuesday
· Solid rocket booster nozzle repair and confidence work

NOTE:  Each auxiliary power unit will be run in sequence for seven
minutes.  The hot fire may not be performed until after 4 p.m. due to
readiness or weather conditions.


Atlantis/OV-104 (STS-74) Russian MIR-2 Docking Module
OPF Bay 2

	An Interface Verification Test (IVT) of the Orbiter Docking
System (ODS) is in work today.  A functional test is scheduled for
Friday.  On the Russian MIR-2  Docking Module, electrical connections
with the orbiter are being complete today.  The IVT is scheduled to
begin on Tuesday and last two days.  A state-of-health check will
follow on Thursday.  Servicing of the water spray boilers and potable
water servicing is being performed today.  Technicians continue
installing heat shields around the three main engines.  On Saturday,
the astronauts will conduct the Crew Equipment Interface Test (CEIT).

	Payload closeouts will begin on Sept. 25 and the payload bay
doors will be closed for flight on or about Sept. 27.

	The Space Shuttle Atlantis’ solid rocket booster repair work
is scheduled to begin on Sept. 24 in the Vehicle Assembly Building. 
Atlantis’ rollover to the VAB is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Oct. 2.


Discovery/OV-103
OPF Bay 1

	Work continues to prepare Discovery for the ferry flight to
Palmdale.  The ferry flight OMS pod installation is now underway and
will conclude later Friday or early Saturday.  The payload bay doors
will also be closed on Saturday, and the ferry flight tail cone
installed next week.  Discovery will be towed to the Shuttle Landing
Facility on Sept. 25 for mating to the 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft. 
The ferry flight is scheduled to begin on Sept. 26.


STS-69/Endeavour

Landing is scheduled at KSC on Monday, Sept. 18 at approximately 7:41 a.m.
