Removal and replacement of the No. 3 TACAN unit used for landing navigational purposes is complete. Re-testing is in work. Payload bay electrical checks are occurring in preparation for the arrival of the Life and Microgravity Spacelab (LMS) next week. In the Operations and Checkout Building, closeouts of LMS are in work. The module will be installed into the payload canister on Apr. 22. LMS will be transported to the Orbiter Processing Facility and installed into Columbia’s payload bay the following day, Apr. 23. In the Vehicle Assembly Building, stacking of the left forward assembly is complete. Stacking of the right aft center segment is in work today. STS-79/OV-104/Atlantis MIR-4 Docking OPF Bay 1 The Spacehab-MIR, double module is being removed today. The ferry flight tail cone was removed yesterday. The waste containment system has also been removed for servicing. Removal of the reaction control system ferry flight throat plugs will occur tonight.
