Installation of the remote manipulator system planned to occur last Friday has been rescheduled for tomorrow in order to perform a functional test today of the associated interface hardware installed on the orbiter. Getaway Special (GAS) beams are being installed in the orbiter’s payload bay today. Preparations are underway for the payload pre-mate electrical tests on Tuesday and Wednesday. In the Vehicle Assembly Building, stacking of the STS-80 solid rocket boosters is scheduled to begin on Aug. 29. STS-82/OV-103/Discovery HST Second Servicing Mission OPF Bay 2 Testing of the cryogenic reactant system began today as planned. Also, the leak and functional tests of the auxiliary power units are in work. The orbiter’s forward reaction control system is scheduled for installation on Aug. 30.
