KENNEDY SPACE CENTER SPACE SHUTTLE STATUS REPORT FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 1996 (11:17 AM EST) KSC Public Affairs Contact: Bruce Buckingham E-mail: Bruce.Buckingham-1@kmail.ksc.nasa.gov MISSION: STS-75 -- TETHERED SATELLITE-1R & USMP-3 VEHICLE: Columbia/OV-102 LOCATION: Pad 39B TARGET LAUNCH DATE/TIME: Feb. 22 at 3:18 p.m. LAUNCH WINDOW: 2 hours, 30 minutes TARGET KSC LANDING DATE/TIME: March 7 at 7:32 a.m. MISSION DURATION: 13 days, 16 hours CREW SIZE: 7 ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 184 statute miles/28.45 degrees NOTE: Work to remove and replace the high pressure fuel turbo pump from main engine no. 1 is ahead of schedule. The old pump is out and the new pump was installed early today. Electrical hook-ups will continue today and be ready for the Space Shuttle main engine flight readiness test set for Wednesday. The Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test is underway and will end with a simulated main engine cut-off at about 11 a.m. today. The crew will depart for Houston this afternoon. This weekend, technicians will conduct the payload interface verification test. Preparations are underway for the crew module, tunnel adapter and orbiter docking system leak checks tomorrow. Also, the orbiter docking system mechanical functional test is set for early next week. The landing gear functional test is complete and good. The forward reaction control system functional check is complete. The orbital maneuvering system will undergo testing beginning today.
