The MMT also decided to call up Edward’s Air Force Base, Calif., for a possible landing there tomorrow due to anticipated bad weather at KSC this weekend. The two landing opportunities at KSC on Friday are: 8:52 a.m. and 10:27 a.m. EST The two opportunities at Edwards on Friday are: 10:18 a.m. and 11:57 a.m. EST. Friday’s weather outlook at KSC calls for low broken to scattered clouds, winds from the north at 15 knots gusting to 25, and possible thunderstorms and rain within 30 miles of the Shuttle Landing Facility. Dryer air should be arriving in the vicinity later in the morning which will make the later landing opportunities the best on Friday. Mission STS-75 status reports are issued daily from the Johnson Space Center. Payload status reports are issued by the Marshall Space Flight Center. MISSION: STS-76 -- 3rd MIR DOCKING & SPACEHAB VEHICLE: Atlantis/OV-104 LOCATION: Pad 39B TARGET LAUNCH DATE/TIME: March 21 at about 3:35 a.m. LAUNCH WINDOW: 6 to 10 minutes TARGET KSC LANDING DATE/TIME: March 30 at about 8:05 a.m. MISSION DURATION: 9 days, 4 hours CREW SIZE: 6 up -- 5 down ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 184 statute miles/51.6 degrees NOTE: The pad is closed today as workers begin to load hypergolic reactants into the orbiter’s reaction control system.
