ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 219 statute miles/28.45 degrees

NOTE: Auxiliary power unit no. 1 was successfully hot fired for about
seven minutes early this morning and the results are good. Following
this APU test, the Rotating Service Structure was closed around the
vehicle and launch pad validations commenced. Workers today will
prepare for the main propulsion system flight readiness test set to
begin tonight. The Rotating Service Structure will be retracted late
Friday night for KSC's Community Appreciation Day on Saturday.

scheduled thermal protection system work.
