MISSION: STS-80 -- WAKE SHIELD FACILITY-3 (image) and ORFEUS-SPAS-2 (image)

TARGET LAUNCH DATE/TIME: Nov. 8 at 2:47 p.m. EST
LAUNCH WINDOW: 2 hours, 30 minutes
TARGET KSC LANDING DATE/TIME: Nov. 24 at 7:31 a.m.
MISSION DURATION: 15 days, 16 hours, 48 minutes
CREW: Cockrell, Rominger, Jernigan, Jones, Musgrave
ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 219 statute miles/28.45 degrees

NOTE: Space Shuttle main engine tests are complete and good. Work to
load hypergolic fuel into Columbia’s auxiliary and hydraulic power
units is complete.  Work to replace a fuel pump on ground support
equipment that supports fuel loading of the orbital maneuvering
system is in work today.  OMS fuel loading will pick up on Wednesday.

TARGET KSC LANDING DATE/TIME: Jan. 21, 1997 at about 8:40 a.m.
MISSION DURATION: 9 days (+1)
CREW: Baker, Jett, Grunsfeld, Ivins, Wisoff, Linenger (up) Blaha (down)
ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 184 statute miles/51.6 degrees

NOTE: Drag chute installation continues today and orbiter window
polishing is in work.  Functional tests of the external tank
umbilical doors are complete.

	In the Vehicle Assembly Building bay 1, stacking operations
of the right forward center segment of STS-81’s solid rocket boosters
are complete.  Removal of the left aft segment’s nozzle pump plug and
borescope water inspection are complete.  No water was found.

NOTE: Work to secure Discovery’s main engines is complete. Servicing
of the ammonia boilers is complete and the orbiter’s structural
modifications continue.
