      • ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 160 nautical miles/51.6 degrees

      NOTE: The Space Shuttle Atlantis rolled over to the VAB on Saturday, April 19, at about 5:30 p.m. and was hard mated to the external tank Sunday afternoon. Mating close-outs are in work. Design and fabrication of the clamps that will help securely fasten the "pyro can" and base plate assemblies is in work.

      The Russian manufactured oxygen generator (image), which Atlantis will carry to the Mir space station, was installed in the Spacehab module over the weekend. The payload canister, housing Spacehab, will be transported to Pad 39A tonight and transferred to the pad's payload change-out room early tomorrow. Atlantis is scheduled to be rolled out to Pad 39A on Friday.

      NOTE: Work to remove Columbia's main engines was completed on Saturday. The forward reaction control system is slated for transfer to the Hypergol Maintenance Facility today where two of its thrusters will be replaced.

      In the VAB, booster stacking operations continue with the left forward mating operations complete and left booster joint close-outs in work.

      NOTE: Over the weekend, technicians conducted inspections of the forward reaction control system (FRCS) thruster seals with good results. FRCS installation on Discovery is now slated for Wednesday. Payload premate activities continue through this week.

      NOTE: With Atlantis' roll over to the VAB complete, OPF bay 3 now awaits the arrival of Endeavour. Transfer activities are scheduled to begin at about 2 p.m. today. The "pyro can" bolt holes and assembly plates will be inspected in Endeavour's aft compartment once it arrives in the OPF.
