      • MISSION DURATION: 10 days, 4 hours, 24 minutes (under review)
      • CREW: Precourt, Collins, Foale, Noriega, Lu, Clervoy, Kondakova (image)
      • ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 160 nautical miles/51.6 degrees

      NOTE: The STS-84 crew returned to Houston yesterday after completing a successful Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test at 11 a.m. Today, Pad 39A is closed to all but necessary personnel in support of hypergolic fuel loading activities. Oxidizer loading is in work today and fuel loading is slated for tomorrow. The pad will reopen on Friday morning for normal work.

      Water and electrical hook-ups for the Spacehab payload are complete. The STS-84 Flight Readiness Review began today at 10:30 a.m. Following this review, a firm launch date is expected to be announced.

      • MISSION DURATION: 15 days, 16 hours, 46 minutes

      NOTE: Columbia's auxiliary power unit No. 3 will be installed today. Orbiter maneuvering system pod functional checks and main propulsion system leak and functional checks are in work through Friday. Tests of the forward reaction control system thrusters are in work. Spacelab reservicing activities will continue through Saturday.

      STS-94 booster stacking operations continue in the Vehicle Assembly Building with the stacking of the right forward assembly and joint close-outs in work today.

      • CREW: Brown, Rominger, Davis, Curbeam, Robinson, Tryggvason
      • ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 160 nautical miles/57 degrees

      NOTE: The forward reaction control system is undergoing interface verification tests today. Inspections and close-outs in Discovery's mid-body continue. Payload premate activities are in work through next week.

      STS-85 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):

      • Space Shuttle main engine installed (May 12 and 13)

      MISSION: STS-88 -- FIRST ISS ASSEMBLY FLIGHT

      ENDEAVOUR (OV-105) NOTE: Endeavour is located in Orbiter Processing Facility bay 3. Standard inspections planned for Endeavour's return from Palmdale, CA (image) are now complete. Removal of the FRCS simulator is complete and removal of the orbiter maneuvering system pod simulators is in work through Friday. Window inspections are in work.
