NOTE: Ordnance installation is complete and hypergolic propellant pressurization is in work through Saturday. Discovery's aft compartment close-outs will conclude on Saturday with installation of the aft access doors. Inspections of the orbiter's freon quick disconnect components are complete. Cryogenic loading of the CRISTA-SPAS payload is in work and launch countdown preparations continue on schedule.
STS-85 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-86 -- 7th MIR DOCKING & SPACEHAB DMNOTE: Retests of Atlantis' oxidizer cross-feed line are complete. Aft compartment close-outs continue through Monday and structural leak checks are slated for Tuesday. Orbiter weight and center of gravity tests are scheduled for Thursday. Atlantis will be placed on the orbiter transfer vehicle next Friday in preparation for its Aug. 11 roll over to the Vehicle Assembly Building. Installation of thermal protection tiles for the forward reaction control system continues through next week. In the VAB, external tank/solid rocket booster close-outs continue through Tuesday.
STS-86 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-87 -- U.S. MICROGRAVITY PAYLOAD-4NOTE: Deservicing of Columbia's freon coolant is loop No. 2 is in work today. Radiator inspections are under way. Work to deservice the orbiter's oxidizer cross-feed line is on hold while workers prepare for Shuttle main engine removal, slated to begin Aug. 6.
STS-87 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-89 -- 8th MIR DOCKING & SPACEHAB DM
NOTE: Installation of fuel cell No. 1 is complete and workers will replace a connector on fuel cell No. 3 before completing installation. Modifications to the left and right-hand elevon coves are scheduled through tonight. The docking mechanism base installation is in work.
