      • MISSION DURATION: 10 days
      • CREW: Wetherbee, Bloomfield, Parazynski, Titov, Chretien, Lawrence, Wolf (up), Foale (down)
      • ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 160 nautical miles/51.6 degrees

      NOTE: At Pad 39A, the engine Flight Readiness Test is complete and ball seal leak checks are slated for Friday. Checks on Atlantis' liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen system are complete and the orbiter midbody Umbilical Unit will be mated Aug. 29. Preparations for Monday's loading of hypergolic reactants are under way. The helium signature leak test will occur tomorrow. The Spacehab payload will be transferred to the pad Aug. 28.

      • TARGET KSC LANDING DATE/TIME: Dec. 5 at 6:51 a.m.
      • MISSION DURATION: 15 days, 16 hours, 33 minutes
      • CREW: Kregel, Lindsey, Scott, Chawla, Doi, Kadenyuk
      • ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 150 nautical miles/28.45 degrees

      NOTE: Leak checks on Columbia's oxidizer cross-feed line are complete and a damaged section of the line has been removed and is undergoing failure analysis. A replacement section of line is being fabricated. Testing of Columbia's auxiliary power units and power reactant storage distribution system is in work. Fuel cell monitoring modifications will begin in the orbiter's midbody next week.

      NOTE: Ku band and communication system testing is in work. Testing of the power drive units on Endeavour's external tank doors is in work. Preparations are under way for flushing of the ammonia boiler on Saturday. Body flap and elevon modifications and window polishing continue.

      • LOCATION: OPF Bay 3

      NOTE: Deservicing of the onboard cryogenic system is complete. The orbiter's payload bay doors will be opened tomorrow and payload removal is slated for Tuesday. Technicians will gain access to Discovery's aft compartment tomorrow. Processing is now under way for Discovery's next mission, STS-91, targeted for launch on May 28, 1988.
