NOTE: Launch of Discovery on Mission STS-82 remains on schedule for liftoff at about 3:55 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11. The window extends for 65 minutes.

Loading of the cryogenic reactants into the external tank began at 8:30 p.m. and is scheduled to be complete at about 11:30 p.m.

Tanking was delayed about 1 1/2 hours due to a need to send a contingency team into the mobile launcher platform at the pad to assess the integrity of the gaseous nitrogen purge system. This was done as part of the troubleshooting effort to understand why unusually high concentrations of oxygen are appearing in the orbiter's payload bay. Once the team cleared the pad, tanking commenced. The high readings of oxygen in the orbiter's midbody and payload bay have stabilized but engineers will continue to monitor them as the countdown proceeds. Also, managers will continue to assess any adverse implications of oxygen in the payload bay as engineers watch to make sure the levels do not increase further.

The earlier concern with fuel cell No. 3 has been cleared and the fuel cell is operating properly. An additional check of the fuel cell's pH level will be taken at about T-3 hours before launch as a final confirmation.

The seven members of the STS-82 crew were awakened at 7:30 tonight and are scheduled to depart for the pad on schedule at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Forecasters are indicating that weather during tomorrow's 65 minute window will be favorable with only a 20 percent chance of launch commit criteria violation. The primary concern is for possible low clouds. The winds at launch time are expected to be from the northwest at 12 to 18 knots and the temperature will be about 56 degrees.
