      NOTE:The solid rocket booster retrieval ships have recovered the spent boosters and are expected back at Hangar AF by early afternoon today. Initial post-launch assessments will be conducted beginning tomorrow. The booster nozzles are planned for transport back to Utah on Friday for more detailed post-flight analysis.

      NOTE: Discovery was transferred to the Vehicle Assembly Building Saturday night, Jan. 11. First motion was at about 11 p.m. Following the launch of Atlantis early Sunday morning, Discovery was lifted and mated to the external tank and solid rocket boosters in VAB high bay 3. Preparations are being established today to begin the Shuttle interface verification test. Discovery is scheduled to be rolled out to Pad 39A early Friday, Jan. 17.

      NOTE: Late last week, managers decided to move the target launch date of Columbia one week later to permit additional processing time in the OPF. No impact to other missions later in the year is expected.

      The Space Shuttle main engines were removed this weekend. Work is now underway to remove the right hand orbital maneuvering system pod next week. Wing-to-fuselage carry-through bolts were torque checked and aft flight deck de-configuration is complete. Water spray boilers are being checked this week and auxiliary power unit leak and functional checks are continuing. Stacking of the solid rocket boosters in the Vehicle Assembly Building continues. The left booster stack is complete.
