NOTE:A quick look at the nozzles of the STS-81 Reusable Solid Rocket Motors indicates the nozzles eroded normally, with no pocketing or wash erosion indications. A more detailed assessment will be made as disassembly of the boosters continues. The nozzles are scheduled for shipment to Thiokol in Utah later in the week where detailed inspections will take place as part of routine post-flight activities.

NOTE: Managers announced today that a new launch date for STS-82 has been targeted for Feb. 11. The 65-minute window opens at 3:56 a.m. EST. Discovery is scheduled to be rolled out to Pad 39A tomorrow with first motion set for about 7 a.m. During tests yesterday, engineers discovered broken wires on the left hand SRB Safe and Arm (S&A) device. The wiring and the S&A connector will be replaced today and retested at the pad.

NOTE: Work is under way to remove the right hand orbital maneuvering system pod next week. Water spray boilers are being serviced this week as auxiliary power unit leak and functional checks continue. Stacking of the right hand solid rocket booster in the Vehicle Assembly Building continues. The left booster stack is complete.
