NOTE: Columbia lifted off from Pad 39A at 2:02 p.m. EDT on a reflight of the Microgravity Science Laboratory mission. NASA managers decided yesterday to move up the launch time by 47 minutes to avoid expected afternoon thunderstorms. Launch was delayed by about 12 minutes for forecasters to assess a rain storm located 20 nautical miles from KSC's Shuttle Landing Facility. Despite discouraging forecasts on Monday, weather conditions were favorable at the time of launch.

The solid rocket booster retrieval ships are on station with the boosters and have begun preparations to tow them back to Cape Canaveral Air Station.

The crew of Mission STS-94: Commander Jim Halsell; Pilot Susan Still; Mission Specialists Janice Voss, Michael Gernhardt and Donald Thomas; and Payload Specialists Roger Crouch and Greg Literis.
