      The solid rocket booster retrieval ships began recovery operations yesterday afternoon and are expected to return to Hangar AF with boosters in tow at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Initial inspections are scheduled to begin July 7.

      NOTE: Preparations are in work for main engine installation tomorrow. Ammonia servicing preparations are also in work. Water spray boiler servicing will conclude tomorrow and functional testing of Atlantis' external tank umbilical doors will begin tomorrow. Stronger replacement bolts were installed in the doors' linkage system after previous bolts were bent during door cycling activities.

      In the VAB, solid rocket booster stacking operations are underway.

      NOTE: Servicing of Endeavour's freon coolant loop No. 2 continues through Thursday and radiator functional tests begin today. Tests on the main propulsion system and atmospheric revitalization control system are in work. Weight-saving modifications on the left and right-hand elevon coves, where the back of the orbiter's wings meet the elevons, are in work through next week.
