At pad 39A (image), the CRISTA-SPAS payload will be installed into the cargo bay tomorrow morning.

NOTE: Shuttle main engine heat shield installation is complete. Preparations are in work for tomorrow's integrated hydraulic test. The payload bay doors are slated for closure later this week. In the VAB, solid rocket booster stacking operations are on schedule for external tank/SRB mate activities on Friday.

A routine, 3-week Modal (structural) Test concludes on the vehicle July 21. Because the test requires the orbiter's midbody to be closed for flight, the midbody portion of the Crew Equipment Interface Test (CEIT) will occur tonight. The forward portion of the CEIT is scheduled for July 26.

NOTE: Modifications to the orbiter's elevon coves are back in work through next week. Functional testing of the atmospheric revitalization pressure control system is scheduled through Wednesday and removal of the liquid oxygen 17-inch disconnect continues. Orbiter docking mechanism installation is underway.
