NOTE: The payload interface verification test and the Shuttle helium signature test is currently underway today. Also, preparations continue for loading of hypergolic propellants late next week. The crew is scheduled to arrive at KSC Sunday evening for the Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT) next Tuesday and Wednesday.
STS-85 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-86 -- 7th MIR DOCKING & SPACEHAB DMNOTE: The payload bay doors are scheduled to be closed on Saturday in preparation for the modal (structural) test this weekend. The thermal protection tiles for the forward reaction control system are being installed and the Shuttle's aft engine compartment close-outs continue in work today.
In the VAB, solid rocket booster stacking operations are on schedule for external tank/SRB mate activities late July 24.
STS-86 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-87 -- U.S. MICROGRAVITY PAYLOAD-4NOTE: Following Columbia's safe landing at KSC yesterday concluding mission STS-94, the orbiter was rolled from the SLF to OPF bay 2 where it was spotted at about 12:20 p.m. Postmission assessments are currently underway. Initial assessments of tile damage from the 16-day flight is reported to be less than average. The orbiter thermal protection system sustained a total of 90 hits of which 12 had a major dimension of 1-inch or larger. Integrated postflight securing and deservicing of the onboard cryogenic system is in work today. The payload bay doors are currently scheduled to be opened next Tuesday.
STS-89 -- 8th MIR DOCKING & SPACEHAB DM
NOTE: Removal and repair of the liquid oxygen 17-inch disconnect continues in work. The hydraulic system is also being serviced today.
