NOTE: The Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT) began this morning in the Launch Control Center and at Pad 39A. Today, the astronauts are undergoing the customary safety training at the pad. Tomorrow, the crew will be on the flight deck of Discovery for the last three hours of the countdown dress rehearsal which will end at 11 a.m. The payload interface verification test has successfully concluded and preparations are now underway for servicing the CRISTA-SPAS with cryogenic helium next week. Preparations continue for loading hypergolic propellants aboard the Space Shuttle on Thursday.

NOTE: The thermal protection tiles for the forward reaction control system are being installed and the Shuttle's aft engine compartment close-outs continue in work. Close-outs of the crew cabin are now underway. In the VAB, external tank/SRB mate activities are scheduled for Thursday.

NOTE: The payload bay doors are being opened today and preparations to remove the MSL-1 Spacelab module are in work. The tunnel adapter will be removed on Thursday. Post-flight access to the main engine compartment and inspections of the overall vehicle continue.
