NOTE: Discovery's aft compartment close-outs are underway and are slated for completion early next week. After cleaning some freon fluid residue off of the orbiter's aft tiles, technicians replaced a suspect quick disconnect on a ground coolant unit to prevent further leakage. Post-work inspections revealed no leaks and evaluations of the orbiter side connections are underway. Ordinance installation begins tonight.
STS-85 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-86 -- 7th MIR DOCKING & SPACEHAB DMNOTE: Installation of thermal protection tiles for the forward reaction control system continues and is expected to be completed next week. The Shuttle's aft engine compartment and crew module close-outs continue on schedule. Landing gear functional tests are in work and Atlantis' aerosurfaces are being positioned for rollover to the VAB on Aug. 11. In the VAB, external tank/solid rocket booster close-outs continue on schedule.
STS-86 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-87 -- U.S. MICROGRAVITY PAYLOAD-4NOTE: Functional testing of the forward reaction control system is complete. Removal of the MSL-1 Spacelab module was delayed yesterday because of problems with an overhead crane. Removal is now scheduled for tomorrow. Once out of Columbia's cargo bay, the laboratory will be returned to the Operations and Checkout Building. Deservicing of the orbiter's oxidizer cross-feed line is underway.

STS-89 -- 8th MIR DOCKING & SPACEHAB DM
NOTE: Preparations are in work for installations of fuel cells No. 1 and 3 tomorrow. Docking mechanism installation preparations continue as well.
