
STS-94 -- Microgravity Science Laboratory-1 (image)
NOTE: In Columbia's aft compartment, work to install the fabricated "pyro can" assemblies at the orbiter's external tank attach points continues. Yesterday, technicians noted two problem connectors while conducting aft compartment close-out work. A yaw actuator connector failed during testing and a pyrotechnic connector in avionics bay 6 was cracked. Both connectors have been replaced and retesting is in work. Pad A will be cleared of all nonessential personnel from 9:30 p.m. tonight until noon tomorrow to support ordnance installation. Launch countdown preparations continue on schedule.

NOTE: Integrated hydraulic testing is complete. Potable water servicing continues in work through tomorrow. Tile replacement work continues on Discovery's forward reaction control system. Main landing gear functional checks are complete. Close-outs of Discovery's aft compartment continue this week. Preparations are underway for payload bay door closure set to occur tomorrow night. In the Vehicle Assembly Building, the external tank is mated to the solid rocket boosters and SRB close-out work is underway.

NOTE: Atlantis' orbital maneuvering system pod functional checks continue through today. Main propulsion system leak and functional checks are complete. Testing of the power reactant storage and distribution system continues. Fabrication of the replacement tiles for Atlantis' forward reaction control system is in work and installation will begin next week. Window polishing continues through Friday.
STS-89 -- 8th MIR DOCKING & SPACEHAB DMNOTE: Servicing of Endeavour's freon coolant loop No. 2 is underway and continues through Sunday. Radiator functional tests are in work this week.
