NOTE: Columbia's roll out to Pad 39A was delayed 24-hours due to a liquid oxygen T-0 umbilical carrier plate alignment problem encountered during operations to mate Columbia with the external tank Friday/Saturday. Also, the liquid hydrogen tail service mast required minor repairs. Because of these issues, the Shuttle interface verification test was delayed from Saturday to Sunday, delaying roll out one day. First motion from the VAB to the pad is now set for 7 a.m. Tuesday. The overall schedule will not be affected. Following the 6 hour trip and after the vehicle is hard-down on the pad, the Rotating Service Structure (RSS) will remain open as umbilical connections and pad validations are completed. The hot fire of auxiliary power unit No. 2 is set for Tuesday night. Following the hot fire, the RSS will be moved into position around the vehicle Wednesday morning. The Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test also remains on schedule for Thursday and Friday with the crew of mission STS-83 due to arrive at KSC Tuesday evening.

NOTE: Installation of the Space Shuttle main engines is complete and electrical connections are being verified today. The forward reaction control system functional checks are also complete. Servicing of the ammonia system on the orbiter and close-outs of the water spray boilers will continue today.

NOTE: Check-outs of the orbital maneuvering system and reaction control system are underway today while preparations for removal of the Space Shuttle main engines begin later this week.
