
STS-84 -- 6th MIR DOCKING & SPACEHAB DM (image)NOTE: Final inspections of Atlantis' aft compartment are in work and the engine compartment doors are scheduled for installation late tonight. Verification of resistance checks on the "pyro cans" in the aft compartment is in work. Liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen purge activities on the external tank are complete. The payload bay doors were closed for flight at about 2 p.m. today.
STS-84 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-94 -- Microgravity Science Laboratory-1 (image)NOTE: Auxiliary power unit installation close-outs are in work. Main engine installation is in work today and the forward reaction control system will be installed into the orbiter this weekend. The Spacelab interface verification test is complete and experiment health checks are in work. A mass memory unit on the payload displayed an error message during testing, so technicians will replace it and perform retests next week. Tests on Columbia's power reactant distribution system continue. In the VAB, preparations are underway for next week's planned external tank/solid rocket booster mating activities.
STS-94 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-85 -- CRISTA-SPAS-2NOTE: Preparations are in work for main engine installation on Monday. Payload premate activities continue. Installation of the Crista-Spas-2 payload is slated for Wednesday. Engineering continues to analyze data on the bent bolts in the linkage of the power drive unit on the right hand external tank door.
STS-85 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-88 -- ISS-01-2AENDEAVOUR (OV-105) NOTE: Endeavour is located in Orbiter Processing Facility bay 3. Servicing of freon coolant loop No. 1 is in work and freon servicing is scheduled for Tuesday. Removal of the right hand orbiter maneuvering system simulator is complete. Orbiter maneuvering system/reaction control system wiring work is in progress.
