
STS-86 -- 7th MIR DOCKING & SPACEHAB DM
NOTE: In preparation for tomorrow's Spacehab installation into the orbiter, the Rotating Service Structure at pad 39A was retracted late last night. The payload was delivered to the pad last night and is positioned for transfer into the Shuttle's cargo bay. The RSS will be extended around the orbiter late tonight. Installation of the pyrotechnic assemblies for the external tank/orbiter aft attach points continues through tomorrow. Engineers continue to evaluate the need for additional work on two of Atlantis' rudder speed brake sector seals.
STS-86 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-87 -- U.S. MICROGRAVITY PAYLOAD-4NOTE: Preparations continue for the servicing of freon coolant loop No. 2 planned to begin tomorrow. Work to connect the oxidizer cross-feed line to the orbiter maneuvering system continues. Testing of a replaced fuel pump is complete and good. Shuttle main engines No. 1 and No. 2 are slated for installation on Monday and engine No. 3 will be installed in late September.
STS-87 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-89 -- 8th MIR DOCKING & SPACEHAB DM
NOTE: Ku-band and radar testing continues through Friday. Securing of fuel cell No. 2 concludes today. Electrical connection of the orbiter's docking system concludes today and mechanical testing begins Wednesday. Auxiliary power unit No. 1 arrived in the OPF for inspection today and will be installed into the orbiter tomorrow. In the Hypergol Maintenance Facility, technicians are replacing four transducers on Endeavour's forward reaction control system today and one tomorrow.
STS-91 -- 9th MIR DOCKING & SPACEHAB-SMNOTE: Tests on a fuel cell performance monitor are complete and good. Retests on the replaced display electronic unit continue. Work is underway to remove Discovery's cryogenic controller for use on Endeavour. Post-flight inspections of the Shuttle's radiators started yesterday and inspections of the sector seals for the orbiter's rudder speed brake are in work. Work to remove the Shuttle's main engines continues through Tuesday.
