
STS-86 -- 7th MIR DOCKING & SPACEHAB DM
NOTE: At Pad 39A, work continues on schedule for Thursday's launch of the Space Shuttle Atlantis. The orbiter's aft compartment doors were installed early this morning and final checks of the aft compartment are in work. Midbody close-outs are complete and the payload bay doors were closed for flight yesterday afternoon.
STS-86 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-87 -- U.S. MICROGRAVITY PAYLOAD-4NOTE: Servicing of Columbia's water spray boilers concludes today and ammonia servicing began this morning. Load testing of the external tank door drive mechanism is slated for Monday. Installation of Columbia's main engines will begin Sept. 23.

NOTE: Removal of Endeavour's heat shields is complete. Auxiliary power unit deservicing occurs tonight. Modifications of the orbiter's fuel cell monitoring system continues. In the Hypergol Maintenance Facility, forward reaction control system back fill and drain activities are complete and replacement of the last faulty transducer concludes next week.
STS-89 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-91 -- 9th MIR DOCKING & SPACEHAB-SMNOTE: Auxiliary power unit removal and checks of a quick disconnect on Discovery's forward reaction control system are complete. Tests on the Shuttle's power reactant storage and distribution system and drag chute removal are also complete.
