NOTE: The loading of liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen aboard Space Shuttle Atlantis began at 2:45 p.m. The start of tanking was delayed slightly more than an hour due to a software problem in the firing room computer which monitors the loading of liquid hydrogen. The concern has been resolved and the time of launch tonight will not be affected by this issue.

The weather forecast for tonight's launch remains unchanged with only a 20% chance of not meeting the weather criteria due to a slight chance of showers. At launch time the temperature will be approximately 80 degrees, humidity 77%, and SSW winds 8-12 knots.

The seven astronauts will begin donning their launch and entry suits at approximately 6 p.m. and depart for the launch pad at 6:45 p.m. for the 20-minute ride to Pad 39-A. The hatch to Space Shuttle Atlantis will be closed for flight at 8:30 p.m.

Launch of Atlantis remains targeted to occur at approximately 10:34 p.m. this evening. The exact launch time will be established during the hold at T-9 minutes based on the current orbit of the Mir space station.

The latest report from the Mir this afternoon is that everything is functioning normally and that the attitude control is stable.
