      NOTE: Following a successful docking with the Mir space station on Saturday at 3:14 p.m., Endeavour is in the second day of joint docked operations. Working no major orbiter issues, the STS-89 flight crew is busy transferring hardware and supplies to and from Mir.

      Solid rocket booster recovery ship Liberty Star arrived at hangar AF with the right-hand booster in tow at 8:30 a.m. today. Recovery ship Freedom arrived at Port Canaveral at about 11 a.m. today, towing the left-hand booster. Workers are preparing to properly orient the left-hand booster to finish the trip to hangar AF. Inspections of both boosters are planned for later this week.

      NOTE: Last week, workers completed tunnel adapter installation and functional tests of the external tank umbilical doors. Columbia's aft flight deck continues to undergo reconfiguration and removal of residual cryogenics from the right-hand orbiter maneuvering system is in work. Shuttle main engine installation begins Jan. 30. The Neurolab payload arrives at OPF bay 3 on Feb. 3 for installation into Columbia's cargo bay.

      • CREW: Precourt, Gorie, Lawrence, Chang-Diaz, Kavandi, Thomas (down)
      • ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 160 nautical miles/51.6 degrees

      NOTE: Discovery's drag chute installation is complete and body flap corrosion repair work continued through the weekend. Installation of a power drive unit for the orbiter's right-hand external tank umbilical door and modifications to the umbilical wiring continue. Tomorrow, the robot arm will be installed in Discovery's payload bay and fuel cell voltage testing begins on Friday.
